Write Letters for Justice for Al-Nur Islamic Center

The congregation of the Al-Nur Mosque have been working with the San Bernardino County Planning Commission for about 27 months, scaling down their dreams and plans for their new mosque to fit the concerns of their neighbors. A number of us from the interfaith community spoke at a Planning Commission Hearing in early December and the Al-Nur Mosque was given a Conditional-Use Permit to build their mosque. However, neighbors in the surrounding area have launched an appeal which once again stops the mosque from proceeding until the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors holds another hearing to determine the issue.
Those of us who have felt or seen the effects of prejudice, who know the importance of upholding the civil rights of all people, have an obligation, a responsibility to uphold America's high standards of inclusion.
Al-Nur Mosque leaders are now asking for letters to be sent to the San Bernardino County Supervisors in support of the Mosque. Please send your letters in support of Al Nur to:
